Some may be photo scams but most that try that program do see remarkable results. I think it is more that they are out of shape and start exercising and eating right. It probably wouldn't matter which program they used and they would see results. Believe it if you want.

I don't think that they are scams. I think that they worked their butts off, using a smart program (some did not follow the current Body for Life program, since it didn't exist then in is present form), and experienced some phenomenal results. You can do it too.

look at the first guy, his head is darker then his body. but then the next pic it blends in?, same with another one at the bottom, his body is tanned, but his head is pale, the next pic it blends in?, i thought, if you're body is tanned your head should be too, unless u wear a cloth around your head constantly when in sunlight

cursor's link explains the illusion in the before and after pics going from fat to fit, but what about from skinny to fit? I still don't understand how some of those guys gained 30 or more pounds of muscle in 12 weeks.

By living in the gym working their ass off and eating a ton to gain that much mass. Hearing their interviews that is what they did. Most gave up ALL bad habits (and social life) until they had reached their goals.

I mean, is this even physically possible...? Muscle tissue only regenerates so fast, and 2,5 pounds of lean muscle gained EVERY week sounds absolutely impossible to me... It's not about how much work you put in, but whether or not physiology permits it...

Lady,
I'm really confused... what I have been trying to do is; work each body part once a week; being conscious of not overworking a muscle group; leave enough recovery time, at least three days, between both body parts; not doing cardio on days when I do weights; eating clean with enough protein.
I don't see how someone could live at the gym and not either overwork their muscles or get enough recovery/rest between body parts.
This might be a novice qu but this has me baffled. I was/am willing to workout for longer each session and more frequently but that goes against all the advice I been told.

Keep in mind that the few people represented in those pics were chosen out of tens of thousands of entrants. The results that you see are definitely not typical. For an inspiring video about those folks, you might want to view the following videos: Body for Life Success Stories (VHS)
Body of Work (DVD, VHS)

These people did not have jobs and very few were married. They were vying for a coveted lamborghini car and $100,000 prize. You could make it happen under those circumstances.
When we started out, we were following the Body-for-Life program. After 12 weeks of we did look great but did not look like the winning pictures. We had jobs and a married social life. We did give up ALL cheats including alcohol. We did not have cheat days to try and match some of the success stories that were out there.

But how can they speed up the physics of mucsle recovery/rebuilding? And how could they not be overtraining? that's whats got me confused, from what I have learned these are two of the most important factors when buidling muscle

I think what they are explaining is that these people lived only to lift, eat, sleep, cardio, and grow. The recovery will happen if these are the only things that you do.
Look at the huge results of the pro bodybuilders. But look at what they have to give up. They live in the gym, the kitchen, and the bedroom (sleeping only). Their whole life is dedicated to building muscle and burning fat. That is what it takes to get those kinds of results. With or without pharmacological assistance. There are some pretty amazing pics to be found on this forum which are pretty representative of what can be done with proper dicipline - with a life. So it can be done and have a life too - just not overnight. Keep working for your goals, maintain dietary dicipline, get your rest, and it can happen for you too. Just not immediately. I keep telling myself that anyway.
