gloves: wrist strap or w/o

I was going to get a pair of gloves for lifting; I'm starting to get blisters. But I was not sure whether to get gloves with wrist strap built into the glove... I don't have any wrist problems right now but I'm only doing fairly light weights. I was not sure if wrist problems were a common occurrence and do the gloves with wrist straps help, or should I save the $5 and just get the gloves which will solve the problem that I have? I should add I have never had wrist problems either.

thanks

The gloves probably aren't the best way to go.

Three options really. Lifting chalk, straps, or hooks. I'd try the chalk and see if that helps you get a more suitable grip (which may help minimize the amount of blisters you get, though you'll definitely get some calluses).

Blisters turn into calluses so I was/am trying to prevent both

Gloves were the only thing that stopped me from developing callouses. They had to be neoprene not leather to do the trick for me. (Men do not find it attractive when women with callouses on their hands touch them in any way shape or form).

They also happen to have wrist straps but I don't tighten them to the point of giving support. I have no fat on my palms that's why I easily develop callouses

At first it will hurt but once they turn to callasis it might not hurt as much, but if you like to keep your hands soft for the ladies wear some gloves, as for straps i never seem to understand once you have done one hand up how do you do the other, unless you get the hooks they may be easier
