So you feel as though you gained more fat than what you wanted and not much lean muscle?

observing the pics, yeah, i gained 3lb's and an inch to my waist + lost my vascularity. I think the problem was too many cals + lack of intensity. Hopefully I got that fixed now, do miss the veins though.

Watch your carb intake, but you will need to eat in excess to gain muscle. Its just physics.

Yep, you said it yourself...too many calories was most likely the culprit..or just not the right type of nutrients at the right time. When looking to add lean muscle with little to no fat gain, you need to find your maintenance level and then eat slightly above it. Meaning, you will have to experiment to find out just how much above maintenance your body requires to begin growing new lean muscle. Once you find this, you are good to go...and you can then slightly increase your overall calorie intake from time to time to keep small lean mass gains coming.
