Dude, I think you're self-perception is skewed :-)

I recommend you get yourself a body fat meter and a scale and weigh yourself and check your body fat every morning. Electronic body fat meters aren't very accurate, but it'll tell you if you're gaining or loosing body fat or staying the same. That way you'll know if you're actually adding muscle mass or not.

I know how you feel as I too have been training only once a week now following Mike Mentzer's HIT. I have nothing wrong with some of his techniques but I have lost a bit of muscle and retained the fat I put on. Mike used to train every three days in his competition days and looked great, then he changed the training routine to every five to sevens in his later years which was a mistake I feel. I'm thinking of either adding fat burning cardio to my workout and still training once a wekk or, go back to training every three or four days which will boost your metabolism. Listen to your instincts...always. My I ask how often you training?

Darklord, I believe Mentzer's routine called for twice weekly training, as intense as you can stand. The once a week thing was for seasoned veterans who were moving a lot of weight, and even then I think he sang a different tune later on (as in, once a week was not enough).

Getaway, you are so skinny, it barely looks like you train. Not trying to be a prick, just trying to drive the point home that you couldn't be any further from big or fat. Start focusing on getting your squat and deadlift up and don't post another picture of your frail body asking if you are fat until you add at least 10-15lbs to that frame.

Dont listen to this meathead. Yes it pays to be blunt sometimes but you are from from frail, and are heading in the right direction. Just stick to the heavy compound movements and stay persistent. The rest will come in time.

He is closer to frail than he is fat. My comment was a candid attempt at helping him get over his anorexic mindset.

Getaway - you are skinny. Keep training.

not annorexia, bulimia!

Yea dude, no offense, but you are skinny... as hell... I have no room to talk, but im at least trying to get fat, and big, and strong... I think what it is, is that you look in the mirror, and you dont see a 6pack of abs, and razor sharp obliques and hipflexors... if thats what you want, then DEADLIFT, SQUAT, Do situps, do crunches, do planks, do leg raises, and do it all with alot of wieght, and eat a lot of F!!!!ing food.... thats all you gotta do dude. if your abs, arent so sore the next morning that its hard to stand up the next morning, you arent training hard enough... if you are at any point hungry throughout the day... then you clearly are not eating enough.

actually, that is my problem, i had abs 3 weeks ago, but i consumsed alot of calories because my stomach was driving be crazy with the hunger pains . I ate clean. I trained consistently. And now thats me, I gained about 2% body fat in three weeks, and added probably no muscle, i dont understand if i was taking in way too many calories, why on earth is my stomach killing me?

Getaway your about as fat as a filleted gnat so your bulking ok.
Feeling fat sometimes is bloated gut from heavy foods i get it from eating bread.
So when you feel fat look over what you ate earlier and take smaller portions or avoid that food

I wouldn't obsess about these minor weight fluctuations, but you might want to try upping your fiber intake a bit if your getting indegestion or bloating.

If memory serves, you have been here for sometime now posting your frustration on your lack or progress. perhaps it wouldn't be such a bad idea to really analize your diet/ training methods.

some people have trouble digesting certain foods others have no problim with. for example: if you notice you feel consistanly congested after drinking milk eliminate it and replace it with somthing ellse you are better able to metabolize. I do this after after almost every meal/snack and have found a great deal about what foods I digest more effectively. I have come to realize that some foods considered "exreamly healthy" give me heart burn while others are not affected and vise versa. it might be a very suttle feeling but if your tuned into what your body is telling you, you will know. just a thought..

eat clean, be consistant in the gym, give it some time and the resaults will come.

you look like you have a really good base to work with to me man.

as far as you stomach is concerned, you might not have washboard abs, but your along way from being even slightly fat in my opinion.

the worlds full of people working towards their fitness goals that would kill to be where you are now.

good luck!
