Incorporating a game of soccer...

Me = high metabolism, hard gainer, making good progress in the gym size-wise, eating 6 meals a day.

As you know its the World Cup at the moment and some guys are arranging football (soccer) games twice a week. I wanna take part as this will be good cardio for me seeing as I do none. What I wanna know is what are the best things to do to make sure I dont lose any muscle during this form of cardio? Im thinking keep a protein/carb shake with me to have at half time? And then eat a meal straight after...?

Any advice would be great

Just keep working out consistently along with your soccer games and keep up your eating habits. I'd take the protein shake after your game and treat the game like a workout. Lots of fluids, shake afterwards, meal a while after that. And have fun with the game too.

Id take a weightgainer after or throughout. If you are anything like me you will need a good 700cals immmediatly after or throughout then a meal within the next hour after a soccer match

yea the most important thing would be to keep the carbs comin, you could take a gatorade and throw in some additional dextrose if you have trouble drinking too much during games.

but the good thing is you have the same response after cardio as lifting, so if you down a high protein/high sugar shake after the game it will give you an anabolic response, at least in your legs (IGF-1 seems to be localized I guess)

It's possible, but unlikely if you feed right, you may even see increases
