Ive seen someone fall back during hang cleans! luckily he had just moved up to 35's... if they were 25's he woulda had the bar land on his neck and ****ed him up! but the 35's were just high enough to where it was sitting an inch or so above his neck!

Some people at my gym bring their kids in with them. Often, they're lifting and not paying attention to the kids and the kids are messing around on the machines or benches. Those are the ones I really worry about getting hurt.

Watched a guy hit the decline bench with about 315 on the bar and no spotter. I kept an eye on him from across the way in case he got pinned (he managed 3 reps or so). Either he was insanely confident or none too bright.

I used to work out at home and I've pinned myself under 200 lbs. on the bench press with no one near me to help. I had to put one end of the bar on the ground, roll the part still on me down to my waist, and then sit up. It was pretty nerve racking. Oddly enough, I joined a gym shortly afterwards.

This was not so much risky as awkward when today I was doing incline dumbbell presses down the gym and swinging up 32.2 kg in each hand is awkward to say the least. I hate it when people drop them and you think they're going to break. Argh!

Just last saturday i was warming up with 105 on the squat bar and was trying to keep my back upright more and i fell backward. Since i'm in a hardcore PL gym everyone was like WHat in the world did you do? lol.
Later they told me not to bother getting tood eep with light weight becaseu thats' what happens lol.
Things are going to happen when you are under heavy weight though. My incident was just because i lost my balance with the light weight. These things do happen and they happen to experienced people, not just newbies.

The bench press bar on chest isn't bad, because sooner or later that happens to everyone. It's happened to me twice already (first time with 95 lbs, man I looked like such a pussy)

I recently (last two weeks) nearly messed up twice.
First time, I had decided to do an extra set of Incline Bench presses as my last exercise for the day. I got to my last rep (could have sworn I had two or three more reps left in me) and got stuck about half way up. Luckly it was a bench that had a second set of pins lower down. I "threw" the bar backwards and quickly go the hell out of the way.
Second time, I had just upped my squat another 10 pounds and damn near went over backwards on the last rep (my back and legs got all wobbly).
Of course both times there was someone paying attention to me and maid comments to make my ears turn red.
Important lessons learned though. Pay closer attention and listen to your body, especially when you are tired or going to a higher weight than you are used to.

I've gotten stuck about halfway up with the barbell when doing flat bench press. Man, it was bad, I thought I could do another rep, but I got it halfway, and nope, it just stopped! I didn't have a spotter or anything, but luckily I was able to rack the bar into the second tier of hooks on the bench. But damn was I scared, cuz for a moment there, the bar was stopped halfway up and I couldn't even move it. I actually had to shimmy down the bench while I haphazardly racked the weight (barely). So lesson learned, always use a spotter, even when you THINK you are ok with a particular weight. Either that, or use the Smith Machine where you don't have to worry about having a spotter or not.

Had that happen more the once; its no fun. But getting stuck under the bar is worse, especially if there isnt anyone near you that can help you out and you have to roll the damn thing off of your chest .

Yeah, but nothing beats that "oh sh!t" feeling as your sitting on a bench with 225 on your back and know you cant get up.

I think the biggest dumbazzes out there are the ones that bench press with no spotter yet they put the collars on the bar. That's the dumbest thing ever. That's a sure fire way to get killed. If you are benching alone, at least if you get caught you can tilt the plates off if there's no collar on there.
