Motivation or lack thereof

Hi guys, its been a long while since i posted here. Im having a problem. I have zero motivation to workout lately. Up until early this year i was working out regularly and training in Mixed Martial Arts but then i had to have surgery in january. I had to have a disk removed from my neck and two vertibrea fused. It really sucked and i couldnt workout or train for months. I was finally able to begin working out in early summer but i have no motivation. I lost most of my strength and ive gained over 15 pounds. I really want to get back into shape but its so depressing since all my hard earned gains have disapeared. Any ideas on how to motivate myself to working out again? What do you guys do to overcome this type of problem? The funny thing is, i have a very nice home gym and all i have to do is walk downstairs but i cant even get myself to do that. Any thoughts would be very helpful, thanks guys.

I do not have a problem with motivation at this point in my life and fitness. But I remember about 14 years ago when I was out of shape, overweight and fleshy. One day I looked at myself in the mirror as I was undressed, and I told myself "that's it, no more, you are going to have to do something and get yourself in shape". It was my "rock bottom", like a drunk lying in a gutter at an all-time low, looking up and deciding it's time for a change.

I've never looked back.

So maybe spending time looking at yourself in the mirror will help you as it helped me.

Good luck!

Join a gym for 6 months to get yourself back into the swing of working out regularly. The change of environment may be just the ticket for an improved attitude.

Man up...

Really tho, when I had days off from school and work and the weather is garbo and I just wanna stay in bed and sleep till christmas, I still get up, get those meals and lift that weight... There's no magic to it, just get up and do it...

Now tho, it's so much a routine that I never even have days I don't want to lift... It's just another normal part of my everyday life, don't even think about it...
