Palpitations

It's been two years since I've lifted on a regular basis. I tore my rotator cuff and spent six months recovering. During that time I developed heart palpitations/skipped beats/extra beats/PVC's. When they started I would get them once every 3 months or so but now I get them almost everyday a few hundred times or so. I got checked out by a cardiologist and he said everything was normal and I would just have to live with them... Which brings me to my question, has anyone here had to deal with palps. also? or know of anyone who does? I want to start lifting again, and knowing that someone else lifts with the same problem I have would help out a bunch.

I used to get them almost everyday a couple years ago due to crazy anxiety. They didnt go away until I began medication. Its definately a weird feeling to say the least.

Firehawk used to have them and I do too. Both from different problems. In my own case they don't effect my lifting or cardio because I know what they are and know they won't kill me.

If they worry you, see a doc and get an EKG done then you'll know if you are at any risk or in any danger from them. If not...then happy lifting.

I've had them once, whilst not working out (i was just walking up some steps). It was a horrible, dread-like feeling. Ugh. I'd get some serious checks done first, and a 'everything is normal' wouldn't cut it. 'Everything is normal' isn't the same as 'You've got nothing to worry about'. If you're getting palps then it's unlikely everything is normal, and there must be a reason. I'd try find out what the reason is so that you can learn more.

But that's just me, I ain't a doc.

Thanks alot goose and welch... basically that is all i really needed... just some reassurance that im not going to have any problems lifting with them... ive had an ekg, stress test, and an echocardiogram all normal...

Did either one of you notice if working out actually helped them?... Ive read that exercise is a big aid when it comes to palps... Also any specific diet changes that helped you guys out with them? I pretty much cut out all refined sugar from my diet and that seems to help, any other suggestions?

Thanks again guys... Im looking forward to finally being able to lift again
