Price of weights, new or used

Just wondering, for you people that lift weights at home, how much you paid for your plates?

For new plates I spend 40 to 90 cents per pound (depending on style/brand) here in upstate NY. Check WalMart as they might have some pretty good prices.

I bought a used olympic set for $68 at Play it Again Sports. Yard sales are great for finding cheap used exercise equipment.

So long as they are in good condition, sure. It seems a bit steep to me for used, but if that is all you can get then you don't have much choice. Any chance you can talk them down in price?

Nah I doubt it. I went back in today, the store is called Recycled Sports, he didn't have any more, he said they go really fast. No way I could talk him down in price. I COULD go to the next city to Walmart and check it out, but only if I know that they have good prices. The next city over also has a Play It Again Sports...

Anyone actually purchased just plate weights from Walmart or Play It Again Sports?

Here, our Play It Again charges $.30 per pound for standard weightsplates) and, I think, $.45 per pound for Olympic.
