Proper grip for the snatch and clean


Could someone explain the "hook" grip to me. What I've been doing is wrapping my thumb around the bar, then wrapping my index and middle fingers around my thumb. I do'nt know if that is the correct grip for the oly lifts, maybe someone could help me out.

wrapping the middle and RING finger around the thumb is more secure, thats how I do it.
