Pyramid vs. Set Weight

I'd like to hear testimonies on which method people prefer to use: pyramid or set weight.

I learned how to lift in college using the pyramid method (moving up in weight and going from 10/8/6/8/10 reps). I developed good gains (likely due to an 18 year old metabolism and lots of beer and McDonalds)

After college I discovered Max-OT and lifted set weights (avg 6-8 reps with the same amount of weight in each set). I did not notice as much progress with this method, but again I was a few years older and working full-time and didn't take my workouts as seriously as I did in college.

Which do you prefer?

Hi There, I believe that all systems work, just some suit others better.
I used Pyramid with awesome result, 5x5 is a new thing on me but it works well for me and set weights work.
Its all about resistance and work load.
I prefere none, but i use all to keep workouts varied and body from learning
