Question about gaining for an ectomorph

I'm a skinny ectomorph. I'm not even tall either, I'm about 5'7". I just started to work out with a schedule, even though I've been casually lifting for about a year before now. I weigh about 117 now. My friend (not really) claims that I won't be able to get to 145, period. I called bs, as I've been researching and going to different forums for a while now and I know quite a bit.

I'd just like the forums opinion, can I make it to 145? I'm already seeing significant gains with just one week of a schedule. I'm asumming he meant in about a year period.

most Mr Olympias may be mesomorphs, but some of the most beautiful male bodies i've seen were ectomorph bodybuilders. my former trainer was ectomorph. at 5'8" or 9", he weighed 185 and had a 28" waist with a 46" chest.

check out Frank Zane. Flex Wheeler is another ectomorph.

here's a page for teen bodybuilding ectos
