question about max ot and max ot cardio

i did a search at the ast website in the Q and A section. my search was how long should one wait to do cardio after lifting. the results said to wait at least 24 hours after lifting. but max ot is a five day split most of the time. so how is it possible to wait that long? i do cardio 3 days a week. so i cant wait that long. it said by resting for 24 hours you will gain more strengh. is this true?

is anybody doing both max ot and max ot cardio on the same days? if so how is it going so far. replys whould be appreciated thanx

it's not 24 hrs, it's 8 - 12 hours between the cardio and weights.

i looked that up at the ast website and your right it does say that. but if you go to the Q n A section and search my question it says for best strengh gains to wait 24 hours after you lift to do any cardio.

i wonder why that is?

max OT can also be done as 3-day split:

Monday: Back, biceps, forearms
Wednesday: Chest, shoulder, traps and triceps
Friday: legs and abs...

Currently I am using this method. I tried 5 day split and couldn't find time and strength for cardio... 5 days of very heavy training is too much for me. My body needs more rest... so I lift on mon, wed and fri and I do cardio on tue, thu and sun... give it a try...

lol - that's funny: i can do five days heavy training, no problem. i canNOT do more than one major and one *very* minor bodypart per session - no way i can do chest, shoulders, et al - i don't even have enough energy for a good tricep workout once i'm done my shoulders!

Ok people, here is the full explanation of when to do Max OT cardio:

It is BEST to try and space out your Max OT Cardio as much as possible from your weight training. If you can do your cardio on your days off from weight training, then that is best, BUT, if you have to do cardio more than twice per week, or waiting 24 hours is just not feasible, then do it 8-12 hours apart from your weight training. So, if you weight train in the AM, then do cardio in the PM and vice versa.

I would definitely eat something (protein and simple carbs) after intense cardio...and yes, you will burn fat EVEN FASTER by eating right after your intense cardio. Because Max OT cardio is so intense, your body, like after weight training, demands quality nutrition in order to kickstart recuperation...by not eating, you'd only mess up another "window of opportunity", so to speak, for properly replenishing your system and getting optimal results from your efforts. By doing Max OT cardio and then eating right afterwards, this ensure that your metabolism remains efficient. The real fat burning from Max OT cardio comes in the hours after having done your cardio, because your system is jolted and remains jolted for several hours, causing more fat to be shed.

Eating a quality post-cardio meal, and then dinner shortly after should be just fine! :
