The whole "smoking helps you lose weight" think is just from I think smokings effect on appetite. If you can still eat a lot of calories while smoking you should have no problem putting on weight.

lol.......quite true.

Overall, it will affect your ability to recover and grow as your lungs will not be as effective at supplying your body with much needed oxygen.

Not funny and very true. It kind of sucks being the only one running a triathlon with a cigarette in his mouth at the start of the bike ride and at the start of the run.

Try it now, when you're bulking. Most people who quit tend to overeat as a compensation for not having the activity of smoking any more, snacking replaces that particular vice. So any time you feel like having a cigarette have an egg or a protein drink. That should pack on the pounds pretty quick.

I've read that fingernails are not affected by smoking; apart from that everything else is.

Personally, I'm usually panting after a set of squats or DLs. That tells me that my lungs are working very hard to deliver the oxygen my muscles need. If I smoked (I don't) then my lungs wouldn't be able to do that as well, so I probably wouldn't be able to lift as heavy or as many reps.

I have no proof for the whatsoever.
