I like my results. Do you like yours? That is all that matters. We are here to help, not be negative on here

you've said yourself about one day stepping on stage?

don't confuse "hardcore" "sticking our noses in the air" with trying to motivate.

I love my results and possible future results. I've nothing but try and motivate, the negativeity has been here from others that are negative on themselves, theres abunch of self negativeity on here, everytime we try to get get serious about responding we are the "bad guy"

I think you've got me confused with someone else about the stepping on stage thing--never gonna happen , I'm too self conscious to shave my entire body and get into a speedo, but if I wasn't so hairy, who knows?

If what is happening is an honest attempt at motivation, then that is one thing, however, and I believe it is a fault of having to write your words rather than speak them, what comes out here sometimes can hardly be construed as "motivation"

I am totally fine with the numbers that I can squat or deadlift, and I know if I stay at it they will improve. My upper body numbers are some of the best on this board from what I can tell, so there's no shame here. My lower body numbers will catch up--so I'm fine
That's cool. I would love to bench what you do but it's unlikely I'll EVER get there, so I really admire the work you put in to get there. I didn't mean to imply you were ashamed of your squatting or anything. I just know from reading your journal that you are determined to push all your numbers higher and aren't satisfied with the status quo.

And as you said, as long as you are happy with the results, that's is all that matters. In the grand scheme of things, no one but me cares what I can deadlift, squat or bench. The name of the game is self-improvement.

This game is a competition with yourself. Because you compete against others doesn't make you better than those that don't, and because you exercise in general doesn't make you better than those that don't.

I'll be the first to admit I give people a hard time on some things, but keep in mind all I'm doing is asking questions or stating opinions ON A MESSAGE BOARD. People get upset (which I'll never understand why) because a lot of these questions/opinions are pretty direct and hard-nosed. But if you look back, my comments aren't necessarily based on what you do or don't do in the gym, but how you think... and there's a lot of 'stinking thinking' going on here.

If you stop a set because of injury, good for you - it would be foolish to continue. If you stop a set because it's hard or because you don't *think* you can do it, then shame on you - I have no empathy for that.

Well that might be the first thing I think we agree on.

Well, if you never get there because you choose not to, then that is fine, but don't think you won't get there if you try to get there. Know what I mean? If someone told me when I was 20 that I would be 65 pounds away from bench pressing 400 pounds in my lifetime, I would take that in an instant...and now I have that.
