rest days

I am taking 2 rest days a week now. Does it matter if they are consecutive or not?

That is up to you, and dependant upon many things... like energy levels, your daily life schedule and if it works for you. I currently work out 5 days straight, then take 2 days off in a row, but that is just me, what seems to work best for me and my results and it fits my weekly schedule!

i take mon and fri off and workout sat, sun, tue, wed and thu. i do it mostly because gym is way too packed on mon nights.

but will soon be changing gyms and then plan to train mornings mon to fri and have sat and sun off. that will also give me more free time to windsurf in the evenings after work and on weekends.

Same as Todd. I workout on weekdays at lunch. No weight training on the weekend, but I do usually run one of those days.

i try to keep to 5 on, 1 off, but sometimes i say to heck with it and take two or even three days off, depending on energy levels and whether or not something's aching (like my stupid forearm).

I dont' like taking consecutive days off because I feel weak and lazy on the second day, also, i like it a lot more when my muscle is kinda tight (it becomes soft usually on the 2nd day off)
but i don't think taking consecutive days off would slow the growth
so, either way you prefer it.
