Ronnie Coleman

What do we really think about those bodybuilders like Ronni or Jay Cutler? Too big, a bad role model in the sense the way they train? Abusers of the sport gone to far? I must confess whenever I see Ronnie train, his mis-use of the way he throws certain weights around might be a bad example for the youngsters wanting to take part in the sport but it's not just him, there are other bodybuilders. So, feel free to express your opinion.

I think the world would be a better place if more people were like Charles Barkley. Say exactly what is on your mind and realize that sports figures are not role models.

i think you are right maverick. in addition, i think it is also important to point out that these guys don't really have that much influence on mainstream society. in fact, most people think they are freaks and make jokes about them. personally, i think they are way too big to look good and most people agree. people just see them for what they are, which is fine. did they work hard? yes. do we need to glorify them? no.

For real. He was the man, except for that incidence when he spit on a fan. Just a straight shooter.
As far as the Ronnie and Jay types, they're just examples of a sport gone bad.

I think all of you have made a very logical opinion and I agree.

Ronnie is arguably the best BB'er in history, and one of the hardest training guys in existance. Is that the type of physique most would aspire to have? No. Is he a product of what the IFBB has pushed it's athletes to achieve in order to be #1 for 8 years straight? Yep.

Is he a freak of nature? Yep.

Would I want to look like that? No.

But hey, I guess the same could be said for many different things/extreme sports/etc in life.

Well, Mr. Coleman is a power trainer who is on the juice . So as far as my expierence about power lifting, you are suppose to throw the weight around a bit, AKA explosive power. Yet Ronnie combines powerlifting with Hypertrophy. I think Ronnie would have been a great lifter and a great size without the use of roids, now once he is done he is going to turn out like arnold!

I agree with Maurer. If u think about how big he is just mass wise and how much strain that is putting on his heart alone, plus all the **** he is and has been running through his body I dont know how the guy is still standing...I'd love to see some bloodwork on those guys and just see how truely unhealthy most of them are.

I saw an article on the internet in which Joe Gold said that he detests todays bodybuilders with their 502 waists and their gorilla look, the art and symmetry on most of them has gone out the window. Here here!

The classic shape has gone out the window completely. However I dont think you can make that comment about symmetry...I find the symmetry on current builders to be exceptional.

Yes, he is symmetrical, however the Michelin Man is also symmetrical. That doesnt mean he looks good though.
