I agree, the plan is unbalanced. I understand you're going for size, but without balance, you're really only short sided in this.

Know what else is excellent on broccoli? Gamasio, especially if it's homemade. I will shred some cheddar cheese on my broccoli and sprinkle with gomasio. It's heaven on earth and it also helps to create a more nutritious blend, more balanced,....but the taste would make even veggie haters eat their greens.
Yummers.

Used a lot in macrobiotic meals, it's a seasoning that's made with toasted sesame seeds and sea salt. There's black gomasio and regular. But when you make it by hand, you toast them, dry roast the seeds, just stiring them in a nonstick pan until they start to pop and you can smell the toasty flavor coming out as the oil is released. You then use fresh sea salt, (I use it lightly compared to the ratios bought in many, but not all, prepared formulations),...and you mix them up in a blender or food processer just a LITTLE bit.
Sprinkle it on top of anything, it's awesome. A little goes a long way and the blending of the seeds, the toasted oil, and the crushed sea salt,...there's texture and flavour in the mix that's divine. You'll see it used very lightly on some types of sushi.
I like it because without OD'ing on salt, it lets you combine flavours, and a sprinkle goes a long way.

I don't think this has ever been done, but I was thinking,....I wonder what it would taste like if in addition to crushing up the toasted sesame seeds and sea salt, you were to toss in a small amount of flax seeds as well? Flax seeds have that nutty flavor too,....hmm, it's different, but it might be an interesting experiment. I wouldn't toast the flax seeds though (I think it might screw up the oil in the seeds), but given they have more fiber, it may be a way to add fiber into the mix.

Yep. As mentioned, a staple in macrobiotic eating, and often found sprinkled on sushi.
