Skinny guy with a gut

I am unsure what to do. I am just getting back working out after a 3 year layoff. I am 6 210 24 years old. But I have a little gut on me. And all my muscles have gotten smaller. My diets terrible but I'm in the process of changing it. My question is, should I just lift weights for a month and than start the cardio (gradually get back into it), or should I just do cardio for a month and than add weights OR should I start weights AND cardio right away?

Start lifting now. Cardio now is OK as well if you wish. Most importantly - get that diet squared away.
