So answer this for me...

Just out of curiosity...Ive been gonig to the gym for around 3 years...I used to be VERY skinny.....now I have a respectable body....

A friend of mine however has never been to a gym...lazes around all day, smokes weed...eats about 1-2 meals a day....usually fast food, but has a better build than me. He looks like he goes to the gym but he really doesnt....hes got a 6-pack, well built and defined arms and chest etc...

I know some people naturally have these builds but how does he sustain this on 2 meals a day + no activity?

How old is he? All bets are off when you are under 20. I ate a bag of doritos before dinner every night when I was a teen and I had a 6 pack.

He obviously has AMAZING genetics and could probably be a pro bodybuilder if he chose to and decided to put in the required effort to do so.

He is the exception rather than the rule, if you will.

Ive always told him if he joined a gym he could have an AMAZING physique. Hes 23 by the way. One thing I just dont understand is how can his body maintain that build on such a low protein/carb etc diet??? Why dont his muscles waste away and make him into a skinny weed lol.

Just comes down to genetics....his protein synthesis and muscle cell uptake is obviously very efficient and it does not take him much to maintain what he has. He is most likely one of those guys who builds huge forearms just from turning the steering wheel while driving.

There are those (like 1 in 1000 men) who have the elite genetics to become an IFBB pro bodybuilder ...or even Mr Olympia for that matter, but it's only 1% of that 1 out of 1000 that actually realize their potential and workout to fulfill it. He sounds like one of those guys. You know the type...the type that can basically walk into a gym and haphazardly throw around some weights and build an incredible physique. Or those select few who can look at a weight and gain 5 pounds of lean muscle....he is prolly one of those guys.

....also one of the reasons that copying the routines of the pro's is basically pointless for 99% of all people.
