Sore throat
I've had a bad sore throat since sunday, and since then, I'm having difficulty consuming 1500 calories, let alone my required 3000. It feels like I'm swallowing rocks, does anyone know any remedies that would get rid of a sore throat or at least sooth it? I've tried anathestics and salt water, no avail  . I don't want to lose all the pounds I worked so hard to pack on.

antiseptic mouthwash
They all work.
ibuprofen and propolis my favorite

I had a really bad sore throat back around Xmas and had the same problem.....couldn't swallow without excruciating pain, I was super hungry and couldn't eat a thing. I popped 3 extra strength ibuprofen and in about half an hour I had almost no pain and I probably ate about 3k calories worth of turkey and stuffing in about half an hour.

its strep throat, doctor prescribed an anathestic u need to gurgle in the back of your throat, doesnt work at all, tried all sorts of things, neo citran, cepacol lozenges, warm salt water, nothin, gonna try this ibuprofen.

It's been some time since I've had it, but I thought an anti-biotic was needed for strep throat.

It does an anaesthetic will just numb the pain if he meant antiseptic it will help kill infection.
UMF Honey is a great antibiotic

Sore throats are awful, and strep ouchie!
I get sore throats so badly that I can't eat either. The only thing that helps me is sucking on halls. I always get the sugar free halls defense. I will suck on them all day and even when i am falling asleep because it hurts too much to swallow. Hopefully you are on antibiotics and then you sore throat should start to clear up within 24 hours. dont' forget to get plenty of fluids |

yes, but antibiotics take time, he gave me an antibiotic and an anasthetic, ive been taking the antibiotics to get rid of the infection, but the anasthetic he prescribed doesnt work. anyways, i tried ibuprofen, worked great. thanks for the solutions everyone. |
