Perhaps regular deadlifts are what you're talking about. Checkout exrx.net to see which muscles are affected:

Good mornings are also a good lower back exercise.

Yes, while the stiff- leg deadlift is for the hamstrings, I have always found it to be great for the back as well. When I first started doing this exercise, I noticed that my back became broader after about 4 weeks, and I always feel it in my back muscles as well as my hamstrings the day after I move up in weight or try adding a couple of extra reps. There's almost no way to do this move and not invlove your back muscles.

I've found this to be the case as well....and it prsents another dilemma,
what with deadlifts working both your back as well as your legs to great extent, no matter whether you do them bent-legged or stiff-legged,
what training day should you do them on?
Leg or back day?

Leg day, because if you do them right, you should feel it MOSTLY in your hamstrings. I don't feel them very much at all in my lower back when i do SLDL's, but maybe that is because my lower back is much stronger...

Hesus!
Your lower back must be made of kryptonite, man!!
This apparently is one of genetic differences,
for me stiff-legged deads are definitely a lower back (and even lower lat!!)movement
They pump all of my back, but don't hit the lower back as hard as
regular deads.
Man, you're really lucky, with a lower back like that I should think
you're very unlikely to injure it.
I'm going to give it a go today, and do DLs after squats.

I do straight leg DL's and I do them on leg days. Though I feel them in both the back and hammies. Both seem to be bigger from doing them.

Maybe we can get some opinions of people that have much stronger deadlifts. I for one can rattle off 225 on regular deadlifts like speed reps. But 215 for SLDL's is real hard to get 6 reps from my hamstrings. So, I don't really feel it much in my lower back. And, I am doing the SLDL's to the point that my legs are wobbling on the last rep or two hehe.

Straight leg I am doing 210 pounds and that is 3 sets of 8. Still feeling them in the hams and back. More so in the hams lately though. I think it is just an compound movement even the straight leg version. So, it works more than one group of muscles.

Yes it works more than one group, but primarily it works the hamstrings, not the back. Just like when I squat, it works other things besides my legs, but I don't feel them necessarily.
I usually never have a sore back, even after deadlifts so who knows...I just know that other than maybe warming up my back with SLDL's I wouldnt say I am getting a good enough workout for my back with that exercise to make it grow from the amount of stimulation. My back is used to seeing 300+ lbs.
