Strained triceps

After a 3 month hiatus, I lifted 5 and 10 lb weights on Sun, doing stetches before and after. I felt fine but a bit sore. The next day I was a bit sore but nothing much and in the afternoon had to pick up a very lg bag of dogfood other shopping. At the time I felt fine but at 3 o'clock after sleeping for a few hours I woke up with searing pain in both arms. Now two days later I still have a lot of pain and can't move my arms to touch my face or get dressed without a lot of pain.

I'm not lifting anything more than a lb or two. Is there anything else I could be doing to help speed recovery...I hate not being able to use my arms.

oooooouch, that's gotta suck.

massage, vibration therapy, alternating ice and heat, anti-inflammatories, and if all else fails, try a couple sets of tricep extension with a 2lb db.

Ya, it does suck, big time!

Each day feels a bit better but not enough to suit me.

I'm going to go to the doc's today to get some advice on what to do.

Thanks for your suggestions.

heres a question: i saw that threenorns mentioned anti-inflammatories for muscle soreness, is this something that can be done regularly for muscle soreness, or only in extreme cases?
