I don't want to speak for Todd, but I find that highly unlikely. I have to eat a good deal to gain mass and naturally have an athletic build (classify me as whatever, I don't put much stock in it), and I know when I cut, my metabolism will eventually come to a crawl. I don't care who you are, your metabolism will be adjusted by your diet and exercise.

Yes, you see, but that is where I have it almost worse off than you do. In order to keep my metabolism stable to gain new lean mass or keep what I have, I have to eat enough. But you on the other hand...once you get your metabolism increased and running super efficiently, you will find it easier to maintain a lean body state because your metabolism will be running more efficiently.
It's all about harnessing your metabolism. Both you and I have to work at it day in and day out....and so does everyone else, because it is all dependant on how you eat, what you eat, your activity level, etc. over time. This is the key tho...harnessing your metabolism. I have to harness mine so that it does not get so freakin high that it eats my muscle mass. I do this by being very inactive other than working out. I thank god I sit at a desk all day for 8 hours and don't have a very vigorous job description, or else I'd have to eat even more food. I also have to make sure I eat certain foods at certain times of the day to curb my nutrient uptake, so that I make sure I am getting a steady supply of nutrients thoughout the day. These are all adaptations I have to make in order to reach my goals and control my metabolism, so I can make the types gains and see the types of results I want.
You have to do the same with your body as well....you need to do those things that are necessary in order to get the types of results you want. But once you do get to where you want to be, it will be easier to maintain your higher metabolism. Getting there will be hard for you, but once you are there, it will be not so bad....as long as you are smart about your food, training, and rest choices.

I believe that a calorie consumed and a calorie of energy expended are the same for all body types. The foods we choose determine our total calorie consumption. Our activity or the lack of it determines our total calorie expenditure.
An excess of calories consumed over calories expended will result in stored fat. Our genetics will determine where that fat is stored.
