Substitutions for goodmornings on MAX-OT?

I have been doing the goodmornings now for a few workouts since i started on the max-ot routine. everytime i do them they feel really akward. with low weight, they feel ineffective. when i bump the weight up they feel like a lower back accident waiting to happen. the hyperextensions work very well as do deadlifts. can i substitute the goodmornings with either of these? i am finishing up my second week today. thanks for the help!

Do what feels best to you. On one exercise is a MUST if you are not comfortable with it. Avoiding injury should be No. 1. I would switch to deadlifts if you are more comfortable with them.
