testosterone levels

I did serveral searches using different terms and found some interesting discussions about testosterone, supplementation, steroids, things like that. But, what I want to know is are naturally occuring testosterone levels higher in the morning or in the afternoon. After my 12 day lay off, and 20 days off total in the last 22, I expected to be weaker, not this much, but some. But, I did my arm workouts and was just really careful to keep from aggravating the back much. My arms maintained and even seemed to get a little stronger even though I wasn't doing the rest of the body. Today was arm day right on regular schedule, but I was late getting started, about 2 in the PM. I had to take 6 pounds off my BB curl to finish them, the other exercixes I didn't have to remove weight, but they were much harder. Does the time of day influence testosterone levels, strength, or was it just a bad day, and I need to get over it and move on.  With my recent schedule, there will be other afternoon workouts and it's gonna stink if they are all like this one!!!

Testosterone levels are highest in the morning hours, usually between 8 and 10 am. This could have something to do with it, but in all honesty, I doubt it. Testosterone is a muscle-building hormone that acts on the muscle during recovery. Muscle-glycogen and ATP levels are what you should be concerned about for those explosive workouts. I like to lift late at night so my body is in full recovery mode when my Test levels are at their highest. To each their own though.

Ok thanks, I'm just trying to figure out why my arms were so weak today. I'm open to all suggestions. I prefer morning workouts because I am rested and have energy for them. But, during the busy summer, that is not always possible.

Has this ever happened to anyone else, just had a day where you had planned to increase weight because you were stronger on your last workout and instead had to reduce?

If so, how do you keep it from happening again?
