Vent

Just thought I'd pop this thread in here to vent about anything fitness related.

Currently the thing bugging me is my training partner. No matter what research I show him or how I try to convince him, he is taking prohormones (Side note, does this still qualify him as a "Natural" athlete?). The jist of it is that you get the minimized benefits of anabolics with all the bad side effects. He's got this whole mindset that he needs to be as strong and big as me right away. Obviously part of the frustration is jealousy. I mean, who wouldn't be a bit jealous of their partner if they were adding weight to their exercises faster than you can count (Beyong begginer's gains). The other part is that I wanna be happy for him and his accomplishments, but I can't look past the prohormones. I know its his body and all that, but its not really something I want to be associated with. Its his decision and I should respect it, but how can I when I so whole-heartedly disagree with it?

OK, enough griping from me, I'm passing the torch.

no, he's no longer natural.

the sad thing is, if he's a beginner and already using anabolics, then he's shot his bolt. for my money, he's demonstrated that his ego is more important than his health or learning how to do things the proper way or even enjoying the sport.

it's a shame, but i think you might have to find another partner.

Are prohormones legal and what kind of side effects occur? I'm not up on all the supplements and everything on the market.

prohormones are not legal - basically, you're taking the ingredients that make up hormones and they combine to form hormones inside your body. the result is a much lower level of performance and quality and the side effects seem to be amplified than with regular ol' 'roids - same thing: hair issues (premature baldness, growth of body hair), mood swings, acne, shrunken testes, etc.

You can no longer compare yourself to him dude. He's using drugs to recover much faster. There's no way you can keep up with that being a natural lifter. You just gotta let it go.

i'll join you on that bandwagon. i got it worse 'cause i'm female - guys stop working out with (or near) me if the weight we're using is similar and the only ones who will help are so far above my level it'd be a royal pita to rack and unrack between each set (girls won't even talk to me). the other problem is the five-minute breaks i take between major exercises (bench, deads, and squats) and the two to three minutes rests between the rest - most guys at the gym rest about 12 seconds, from what i can tell.

I agree.......I don't buy into it's your decision and that nonsense, it only sends a bad message for the next gen. coming up, even if one is competitive and experianced and knows what their doing, I still don't respect it.

The irongame has been in shambles for so long now......it's time for a change.

let me correct myself and say it's been tarnished (forever tarnished) and I don't take as a compliment when I have to explain to someone that......NO I don't and never have used drugs.

name one competitive sport that *hasn't* been "tarnished" by the use of AAS or other enhancements.

I feel the same way about sports also.

sports dosen't get my money, (at least what I can help) I don't go to games, and I don't "tune in" to the play-offs or any other game.

I hit my 1 year anniversary at the beginning of this year. A new years resolution that actaully stuck! My partner has been going for about 6 months.
