What is better??

I guess this depends on the program you are on and your goals, but generally speaking, what puts more "load" on the muscles, or what truly makes your muscles work harder:

4-5 reps with a heavier weight to failure

or

8-10 reps with a moderate weight to failure

I have been doing the former for the past few weeks, but I was wondering if doing the extra reps might help with say form, or help my tendons to get stronger or whatnot.

What does everyone think??

thanks, steve
