Personally? I don't. Fast upbeat music is good for areobics (and cardio) and such, but not really for weight lifting. I just like to focus on what im doing when at the gym. I dont think it can really effect your performance if thats where your going with this. Well not mine at least. But everyone's different ;-)

I have a MP3 player that I update from time to time. I have to have music going, it helps me concentrate. The gym has some lame-ass corporate crap playing, I swear the other morning something like Air-Supply came on. Talk about a motivation stopper.

I listen to metallica or Korn...usually fast paced heavy metal does it for me. Gets me worked up and pissed off lol.

I listen to AC-DC, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Scorpion. They all get me "pumped". Thre is nothing like having someone bitching at you while your lifting either, it can really piss you off, and gt your adrenaine going.

Lifting with the team at the school gym music:
Korn, Slipknot, Metallica, Rob Zombie, 311, The Crystal Method, DMX, etc.

Lifting at the club gym:
They mostly play popular trendy songs that are remixed into a more upbeat play.
