Which is better?

Saturday, I posted about a milestone I reached in the gym.

http://www.discussfitness.com/forums...ad.php?t=30142

At that time, I bench pressed for the first time at the gym. At that time I went direct from the Leverage Chest Press machine to the bench press. Tonight was my first upper body workout since Saturday. I did three sets on the Leverage Chest Press again - 200lb x8, x5, x5. (Gained one rep!) Instead of jumping straight to the bench press like I did Saturday, I did my rows and back hyperextensions first. When I did the chest press, I again did three sets at 135 lb - 10x, 10x, 6x. The reps are way up from Saturday. I attribute this to the rest my chest got while I did the other exercises, and not from some sudden increase in strength.

The question is: Which way is better? Should I do the leverage and bench back to back, or separate them with a couple of other muscle group exercises?

switch from week to week - there's benefits to both, but my bias is for the longer rest period.
