Why cant I lift like I did last week?

I keep a log of my lifting every week.

I switch my routine where I do 10x3 a week, then the following week do 4-6x3.

When I reach my goal for a week like 10x3 , the following week I bump the weight and do 8x3 and slooowly bump the weight till i reach 10reps and repeat.

My question is, 2weeks ago I did 65lb dumbels of 9x3......my aim yesterday was do todo 10x3... or maybe 10, 9, 8.......how come I had such difficulty doing it?

is it my diet? sleep? protein intake? sex? carb intake?

thanks.

no clue, but i doubt sex is the problem unless you're not getting enough, lol.

one thing that pops to my mind is muscle memory: your body rebuilds muscle based on the LAST weight you used. if you did a set of 100 x 4 then 90 x 6 then 80 x 8, muscle growth and repair will be set by the 80lbs, not the 100lbs.

you may be overtraining or not resting enough, especially if you're doing cardio in the same session.

other than that, no clue.

thanks a lot man..... yea ive been dry in the bedroom for a while..LOL... but other than that Im assumin its gotta be the rest or motivation factor.

TECHNICALLY, If I can do a certain week and then unable the following, does that mean muscle loss or jus not pushing myself enough?

Sometimes, it just is what it is. No week is exactly the same as the one before. Even if I eat exactly the same, I can be weeker or stronger. As long as you lift with the same intensity and push yourself hard, you're fine. Don't over-analyze it too much.

I second that. You have good days and bad days just like anything else.
