Why do I have more energy when i sleep less...

Hey everyone,
I've noticed something weird, on days off from work say ill get 8-10hrs sleep, ill look forward to going to the gym, but I will just have an unproductive workout, still lift like normal but get way to drained out and tired too quickly...

When i have 4hr sleep... from staying up at night then going work, I seem to work out a lot harder, longer and still have energy... I dont know how this works.. it's confusing me..

Right now im going to go gym n train calfs hams quads and I've had 4hrs or so sleep, and I actually feel more syked to go in and train my ass off, as opposed to a day off when I can full plan and not rush etc...

If anybody has any similar experiences.. i'm curious to find out the reasoning...

Cheers .

Probably the cortisol and adrenaline produced to comopensate for lack of sleep will push your body -just like a caffeine tablet- but overall you are wearing yourself out and supressing anabolic responses.

Thr human body will respond to less sleep but no less than 6 hrs
If you sleep to long your body will go into a hybernation sort of mode and you wake with a head ache and feel lazy

Adequate sleep is crucial for proper recovery and optimal growth....so I'd make sure to get your fair share of it (6-8 hours worth).

I know that I feel more tired when I sleep over 8 hours than when I sleep 7. I agree with the whole body goes into hibernation mode when you sleep too much. I think my optimal hours of sleep per night is 7 hours. I guess everyone is different.

Recent study showed that was wrong as far as health is concerned. you can make yourself believe you need less but physically you dont. For all you know that you were in a repair process and thus the tiredness on waking. But it is also true too much is too bad . What is also important is when you sleep ie in agreement with circadian rythem
