Welcome to DF!

Lexy, first invest in some good gym shoes - walker or running and hit the road. Start with some brisk walking (30 minute walks at first, working you way up to 45 minutes to an hour - what ever you can do). Do you have access to a gym? If not, get some dumbells - start off with 8 and 10 pounds. You can do bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, dumb bell shoulder presses, squats and lunges. As your strength increases you'll want to increase the weight. You can do a search on google for an example of how these exercises are performed.

What does your diet look like?

Yes, pushups are great for your upper body. Do crunches insteads of situps. You will isolate your abs better.

Get to your gym!!! :

You won't loose weight and tone up if your diet is contradicting your workouts. Diet and training go hand and hand.

not to be sarcastic, but GO to the GYM!!! watch what some others are doing with free weights and ask questions! starting a good weight training program will help stabalize your bumpy weight situation and tone up your whole body!

If you eat whatever you want you won't see great results, like Timbers said... try to remember this Food is FUEL, the better fuel you put in the better your body will run... check out the diet and nutrition forum and look at the 'sticky' threads at the top for some great places to start about good fuel / nutrition.

first I would take the word 'fast' out of your vocabulary when It comes to toning up and losing "FAT", key word being fat here, you can lose weight easily by sacrificing muscle, but who wants a skinny, flabby body? If you start going to the gym you have a membership to you won't need to do pushups, of course situps, (or crunches like Timbers suggested), should remain in everybody's workout plan somewhere :

Agreed regarding pullups! I start each back day with 4 sets each of wide and close grip pullups. It's awsome for the back : Lats and the other areas that benifit - delts, biceps. Can't go wrong with it. I think pullups and lat pull downs help give a nice sculpted V look.

The gym is a great place to learn. Find those men+women who look like they're in fabulous shape and watch what they're doing.

Don't be afraid to lift weights, because it will help is speeding up your metabolism. Besides, once the fat comes off you want to have something underneath it to give you a more sculpted look. And don't focus *too* much on what your scale is telling you...muscle weights more than fat. It's about how you feel. And you'll feel great. :
