ATTN ladies...I need to know that I'm not alone....

 I am assuming that this is only a female problem...for years, whenever I would do any sudden movement, like suddenly spreading my legs in a werid way or something, I would feel this "popping" sensation around my pelvis and after that it would kinda hurt all day whenever I did the slightest movements. This would only happen rarely and when I least expected it. Lately...I can't even get through the first 10 min. of my step box routine w/out that happening. I hate it because I have to quit after that. Do ANY of you ladies know what I'm talking about? Its hard to explain, and I know I didn't do a very good job trying to explain it here. But I know that if anybody else has had this, then you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

I have no idea what "popping" sensation means. I would go see an OB.

my guess is you have wide "bucket" hips?

if so, it could be your tibia shifting in the socket. women have a habit of walking one foot in front of the other, which is what makes our hips sway the way they do, in order to keep balance. problem is, the increased Q-angle (quadriceps angle) puts a lot of lateral stress on the hip socket and sometimes the tendons and ligaments aren't strong enough to hold the joint together properly. could also be weakness in your hip muscles.

when you do your box workout, try keeping your feet spread so your legs are moving directly forward, not forward and abducting.

Popping

I experience something like this when I do certain leg movements in Pilates. An instructor told me to turn my foot inward and that helped quite a bit. Then I didn't get the popping.

I do this all the time. Especially when I stretch in the morning when I wake up. It can be quite painful, but it never lasts long.

I never had this problem till I had my son. I had a lot of pelvic pains in the end because he was so heavy.
