LBM is everything in the body that isn't fat. Muscle, bone, organs, water...

When you lose fat and increase LBM they all increase. Sure there was some muscle gain too. 9lbs of muscle in that short of a time is incredible, not totally impossible, but would be quite impressive.

Who really cares - it's lean mass and not fat mass - so it's good.

Excess water would be looked at in the Bod Pod as fat. This isn't a test at a gym by some dumbass $10 an hour employee. This is a university research center. Netsearch Bod Pod. It's a $100K machine. It's arguably the most accurate method.

Hey, it's gotta be more accurate than the tape measure that I use. However, if it calls water fat - it's inaccurate. Medically speaking water is considered lean body mass - because it isn't made of fat.

Water in the muscle cells isn't a bad thing by the way - it makes them bigger, fuller, stronger.

The most accurate method out there is still off by a few %. Dont' get offended. (correction, i looked it up. It's off 1-2%)

I'm no expert on it, but i don't see how water is viewed as fat in any test system. In that case, i'm about 90% bf because my body is already 70% water. lol

I totally agree, every time I have had my bf done, they always tell me at the end- give or take a couple of percentages.

i'm sorry but i just gotta ask...

Are the pictures at the top of the screen in the blog accurate? I can't help but think someone transposed the dude's photo onto some other photo of a guy that's shredded lol. Look at the skin colors.

Regardless...

Bodyforlife routines do work if followed properly with a sensible diet.

Only the last pic is photoshopped. The first three are really me.

I understand the % of error is 1-2%. We can argue BF testing all day and get no where because the only true method is an autopsy.

However, the original ? is does BFL work? Yes, it works in a big way. It's basically what I did between picture 2 and 3. It's when I got really lean, whatever % I was.

I did glance at the website but do u think its worth it to buy the book? and also should I buy the one for women?

I thought it was 12/10/8/6/12/12 I guess I read it wrong....does anyone know how long if of a workout the weightlifting portion turns out to be? I'd feel wierd not doing cardio 6 days a week!

also I've never done that kind of a cardio workout I usually just run or ellipticise for 3 or 4 miles 6 days a week...how hard is that cardio workout in the beginning for those of you who have tried it?

The book is worth buying.

The cardio is very intense but it's only 20 minutes long! You just would start out with something easier and then change it to get tougher as you learn how to do it.

The upper body workouts are 46 minutes if done exactly, and the lower body is like 36 minutes or something like that.

This program is good for people new to weightlifting in my opinion.

What about their diet plan? Would is still be as effective if I didn't eat as many carbs in every meal?

A month worth of questioning? Just try it out already.

Yes, no, maybe, who knows? No one here can tell you how effective it will be for YOU. It's as effective as YOU make it. Just do it already. There's 1000's of success stories from it, and websites dedicated to it. www.bodyforlife-tracker.com is the biggest, and has a number of BFL champs who post regularly. I know in the last month of 2 or 3 people who have been featured on the official BFL site as potential champs this year.

You can read and question, and ponder, and on and one. However, you won't lose any weight that way. Just jump in and try it out already, and all your questions will have answers soon enough.

I guess it depends on what someone calls a beginner. I've been working out off and on for a lot of years, and BFL gave be more muscle gains, and more fat loss than I had ever seen before. I was still nowhere near "Men's health cover model material", I was pretty happy with the degree of change.
