Britney Spears of Yesteryear - Legs, Abs
I want old school Britney's Legs & Abs:
Britney's Legs
Britney's Abs
I'm not far behind her on the abs, but I've always had a lot of difficulty trying to tone my legs.
I suppose it's genetics, but what are the best things for me to do to accomplish that kind of sleek, athletic look?
I don't just want nice legs, I want fit, muscular, and toned legs. :

I'd say train like a dancer if you want dancer's legs. All things considered that is what Britney's and most singers's are trainied for on stage.
I think the abs picture has been heavily influenced by photoshop but no doubtedly she has great abs.
I don't know much about dancers training but it can't be that hard to find on a goole search or from a local dance school. Paula Abdul should have some good videos.
Don't forget to keep your daily eating habits in check and suppliment your dance training with full body weight training.
For the details you can do a search on the forums for sample diets and training plans at your level then ask more specific questions.
Welcome to DF.

Thanks for your advice.
I considered this too...I should really be doing what these dancers are doing.
I've been doing kickboxing & the tae-bo bootcamp, and even though I'm happy w/the results, considering where I've started, I'm still not getting that full out tone that I'm looking for.
I think I'll look into some dance classes...unfortunately I'm not very coordinated lmao...I'll enroll in some remedial dance courses first...

"cutting", "toning", and visible abs are all done in the kitchen, not the gym. you need to clean up your diet in order to reduce bodyfat and that will give you the look.
otherwise, brat's suggestion is excellent: dancers have the best legs.

But you know...I have an excellent diet. I can say that w/confidence, and not be BS'ing you guys about it at all. I very rarely will eat any kinds of candy, eat plenty of fruit, fresh vegetables, and poultry meats. I am so baffled, because I'm proud of the progression with my upper body, but w/my lower body, I just can't seem to get the proper results.
I have used supplements in the past, to an advantage, but I'd really like to do this without hitting the bottle. If I have to I will, but it would be a bit disappointing, as I wanted to challenge myself w/o any pill assistance.
But I'm going to take Brat's advice, and search out some diets in the forum, to see if there's something better out there for me.
I appreciate the input.

Britney's legs look pretty normal to me, something anyone could acheive with a reasonable amount of cardio and a good diet.
Paris Hilton has nicer legs: http://www.visitcelebrities.com/pari...mages/fav1.jpg

Yeah they look nice and...airbrushed!! haha...j/k.
I think Paris' legs look nice, but I would not want to be that slim. She has virtually no thighs lol.
I like Britney's legs because they look athletic, but they're not TOO muscular.

Halle Berry has something similar to what you're talking about, but still better than Britney's, haha.

Toned, shapely legs. Not too muscular, not too slim.

Yeaaaah! That is exactly what i'm talking about. Her abs look great too.
In other news...I fear my legs getting too big...like Serena:

It's great for her, but not a goal for me.

If your legs look like Serena's then you've been working flat out "hard"! I mean if thay are the same size and defined.
My legs are not Paris Hilton legs and never could be. I have quad muscles that fill out the full length right down to the heads over the knee cap. I also can't show much height at mid-thigh because I am "stringy". When in shape, I've been accused of being a dancer before even though I've never done any training for it. I also don't have a tendancy to store much fat on my thighs and I have "poor glute-thigh power" for a woman.
If you have muscular legs and glutes to begin with, you likely will have to rethink what your end goal will look like.
3N's is right about the food. Don't forget that anorexia and bulimia are common diseases amongst serious dancers and gymnasts. Careful not to get too enthusiastic about cutting and toning. Choose your goals wisely.
Find some meal prep and planning schemes from a search and then compare it to what you eat now. (Track yourself on www.fitday.com for a week) Then come back and ask for feedback on your modifications so we can see what you are talking about exactly.

Oh no...wasn't trying to give off the impression my legs were like Serena's. I just have really large legs, and don't want them to be this size, AND that muscular. I want a leaner build.

relax - if you've not been working out with weights, a good portion of your thigh size is fat, as that's where women normally deposit. you can't "accidently" give yourself serena thighs, either - you have to a) have the genetics for them, b) have the money to buy the supplements for them, and c) have to really work for them. as you correct your eating habits and become more active, you'll lose fat size, but muscle will not fill up the corresponding volume - it takes up less room than fat does.
do the weights, by all means, but keep the weight low and the reps high - 12 to 15 or even 20 for three or four sets for large groups, two or three sets for small. this will prevent your muscles from being too stimulated and will encourage the growth of slow-twitch fibres (which are slimmer in structure than fast-twitch fibres, the ones that provide explosive movement).
oh - and above all, dance, dance, dance!

Here is my input
Someone with these stats *Female, 5'10" on 12/19/04 - 150lbs. *5 lbs 'til goal!* . . I would say you need to deal with your genetics. At 5'-10" and 150 lbs you probably have a naturally pear shaped body if your thighs are getting "big" <whatever that means>. You can aspire to be anything you want but if your body is predispositioned to be something else you will never achieve it naturally (without surgery or steriods).
Stick with eating right and working out and be happy with what God gave you.

You lost 32 lbs in 2x monthes? 4 lbs a week is nothing bach at!
When you say you're not B/S'ing us, what are you basing that assumption on. Its one thing to understand good nutrition, its another to follow it to a T. The reason I ask is because you didn't post a caloric count or micronutrient breakdown to back you up.
