Changing routine and 1 week off

Hey Ladies,

Wanted to know if you guys ever change your routine like this:
1 week 5 days cardio and abs with no weight lifting than the next week 5 days with weight lifting and no cardio? I'm getting kind of bored and worn out with my normal routine and i have been trying to change it up so i thought i would give my arms a break for one week and atleast do cardio and than the next week make it up and do weight lifting that whole week without cardio?

Also do you guys ever just take a week off. Lately its been a struggle for me to go to the gym, i still go my 5 days a week and put all my usual effort into it when i'm there but everyday for the past week i just don't feel like going and i have to tell myself "Get off your lazy ass and go". I thought maybe i just need a week off and than i will be itching to go back, what do you all think???

A week off wouldn't hurt. It may help you recharge, and be more into going without having to force yourself. I've personally never rotated weeks like that so maybe someone else has.

Sounds like you're (possibly) overtraining just a tiny bit (of course I may be totally wrong.... it's happened )

Take a week and get outside (hey, it's summer! )- let those batteries recharge. Have fun.

When you come back, try one less day per week in the gym and see how it goes.

If you can balance your gym time with the "every-other-aspect-of-life" stuff, you'll find that you burn out less often and can continue your routine without big blocks of "off time".

Good luck!
