Thanks for the encouragement guys!
My new strategy is working. I went down & bought rollers and loose tobacco. The cigs are such a pain to roll and there's tobacco everywhere. Then they're rolled so cruddy that I can't even really enjoy them. So I smoked only 8 cigs yesterday after I did that! Today maybe shoot for 7. Only 1 spoon of caffeine in coffee pot today. Yesterday I felt like horse puckey...

Amy,

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! Take it day to day then week to week etc. You are
doing yourself the biggest favor of your life. I was a two pack a day guy
for fifteen years. My wife and I quit cold turkey together so we would have
a healthy environment for the family we wanted to start. It's been 15 years,
one great son and lots of bodybuilding contests since and it was absolutely
worth it!!! The feeling of accomplishment from being smoke free every day
is much better than the feeling any cigarette will ever give you. Good luck
and God bless you.

In my opinion tapering...or cutting down is not the way to go, it just prolongs the suffering.

I believe the best way is to just stop, suffer for a week or two and be done with it.

In the words of Yoda...........Do or do not..there is no try.

Good luck

r22, even if you just stop completely, i don't think it will be all good after a week or two. still, i agree that stopping completely and immediately is the way to go.

Good luck. It took me a few times before I quit for good. It's been a year 1/2 since quitting. There has to be something significant in your life to quit the habit. For me, it's fitness and health.
