Confused about what I want
Okay I am not sure if I can explain my question right but I will try. For the most part I store my weight starting from my mid/lower stomach to my upper thighs, but I am pretty even throughout I guess you could say. My body is somewhat in proportion but I am alittle confused as to what the results are that I really want. I have boobs and a butt, but I want to keep that...I would be happy if I had a nice smooth waisline but I have "love handles" whciH i really detest. What I am unsure about is whether or not I need to loose weight to get rid of them or just lower my bf %? Is it possible to keep my proportions but just create a nice wasitline, of course while toning up the rest f my body as well? or is this a matter of loosing weight?

How tall are you? How old are you? How much do you weigh? What's your BF?

Little Angel,
I'm not as knowledable as some of the folks on this board, but here is my two cents.
5'2", 120 pounds seems like a healthy weight. From what I know 15-25% body fat is healthy. Perhaps you can just work on your diet and workout routine a bit (not to lose weight but to tone up)
Perhaps someone else can chime in here and tell you what they think?. Anyone?

Losing the bit of fat at the sides and belly is mostly the diet. Adding or defining those curves is a matter of replacing any of the fat in those areas with muscle. I would continue to lift cycles of heavy with low reps and light with high reps to get all those curves back. The diet, timing of what and when you eat, will be most important.

I wouldn't trust the online bf% tests....I've tried them many times and they told me that I had a WAY higher % than what I actually turned out to be (had it done properly at my cop testing).

Well, that's comforting to know, because the couple of online bf% tests I've done put me a lot higher than I expected. It was really quite depressing, actually.

Yeah I know...it was a depressing experience for me. They were telling me that I was 30+%, which is ridiculous because I'm 5'2" and 110 lbs.
I was recently tested with calipers, and my sum of 5 skinfolds was approx. 53mm. I'm not sure how that calculates to bf%, but I think it's in the mid 20's. It was an good measurement though, because it scored me 10/10 points.

I agree with midge. Please don't go by online tests for BF%. They are far from accurate. I highly doubt you are over 30% at 5'2" and 110 lbs.
If you tell us the sites they pinched or the caliper method they used and your age we can give you an estimate of what your bodyfat % is. Do you know what formula they used? I haven't heard of a 5-site method. But if it makes you feel any better, according to the Jackson Pollock method (3-site) your body fat % would be somewhere between 21-24%. And that's with only 3 sites. So with 5 sites it might rate a little lower depending on where they pinched you.

I'm not sure what equation they used. Something obsure so that I couldn't figure it out myself I suppose.
Wasn't Jackson Pollock a painter?
