curves for women

It dawned on me you guys probably have never heard of Curves or if you have you don't know what it is aside from its for women.

It is a 30 minute workout that is designed as a circuit. There are alternating stations of dual-hydraulic resitance machines (so you get resistance on the push and the pull) and aerobic stations ( wood and rubber square matts for jumping around and keeping the heart rate up) Every 30 seconds you change stations and every once around they have you check your heart rate and keep in the aerobic range. (I wear a heart rate monitor b/c the *OOnce OOnce OONce* of the music makes me count way too high and then I slow down)

I joined precisely because I thought the process I'm going through now would be impossible. That is.. figuring out what the heck to do in the gym. Now I don't think it's impossible...but it ain't easy ....There's SO MUCH conflicting info out there.

Thanks again for the help.

I was wondering what Curves was. A few of the chicas on the other board I post on were talking about it how it was expensive or something like that. I thought maybe it was just like Women's Workout World or other gyms just for women. I didn't realize it was an actual routein to follow. That's pretty interesting. You like it there?

Curves is great for not being bored, but I have not once been sore at all from a workout. I think weight training the traditional way is going to be necessary (for me) . I plan on staying at Curves for my cardio part- I keep moving unlike on a treadmill where I wish I would just die and get it over with.

Cost is not too bad...$30/month.

hope this helps....
