cutting for the first time!

So, starting yesterday, since I had the day off from work, I started cutting and eating very clean. I've been keep track of my caloric intake in fitday.com and thinking up creative foods to eat without being hungry. I must say, it's a serious challenge!

I'm not too concerned with bulking at the moment. I know I have muscle mass, and I've been making good progress at the gym. But I'm still feeding myself enough protein to keep my muscles going.

I really want to lose this fat around my torso and belly. It's been a sore spot for years (I have love handles...LOVE HANDLES! ARGH!!!), and it's time I did something about it.

However, I'm afraid I won't be able to cut for too long. I'm talking only a few days. If I can get through this week (back to work today!), it'll be a miracle!!

What do you ladies suggest? Is there anything I should absolutely be doing or not doing? Anything I'm forgetting?

Thanks
