Impossible - you said you weigh around 121 and are 5'4" tall. I am the same height and I weight 128-130 and my BMI is right smack dab in the healthy/normal range! If anything you are pushing underweight.

Active = not necessarily incorrect BMI
Muscular = likely incorrect BMI

bottom line is, BMI is exactly the same as the school system: designed to deal with the "normal" majority and fundamentally unable to cope with out-of-norm people.

So do you think that women should go by the BMI to tell if their overweight? Even when they are obviously not?

BMI is a starting point for the sedentary. Once you are even moderately active, it is relatively useless as a barometer of overall health.

I'm 5-11, 179 pounds. With a BMI of 25, I'm technically overweight. My waist size is 32, the same as it was when I was 167 pounds two months ago. That ain't fat. mister.

Read what the CDC has to say about BMI and health.

My point was, I felt it to be EXTREMELY diificult for women to have a BMI over 25 and still have a low BF%
I'm 5.10, BMI=25.1, just overweight(BF% = ~22%).
I dont think there are very many women who have a higher BMI than me and are still low BF%.
Honestly, I could stand to lose 20 lbs(of fat) - that will bring me to ~12% BF.
At 5.10, 175 with 15% BF is a non-trivial amount of muscle.

Guys are heavier to begin with, and gain muscle more easily. Hence it is not uncommon for us to cross over. But women..
Unless girls have like super heavy bones or something??:confused:

2 years ago I weighed 105 lbs. Last year I weighed about 110 lbs. Today I way about 118 lbs (I'm 5'2").

Lately I've been paranoid about my weight, but I have to keep reminding myself that my clothing still fits the same, and my girlfriend SWEARS that I don't look as though I've gained weight.

10 lbs of muscle in 2 years - if a tiny l'il girl like me can pack on the weight like that, then I don't think anyone else has to worry about what the scale says.
