Eating

I've got a workout partner now, so that will help me stay disciplined on my lifting regime. However eating is still a problem. I'm so lazy when it comes to eating. Lately, I either don't eat, or I eat total crap! (and I mean crap, like restaurant food and processed food)

Any ideas on how I can get back into the groove of good, healthy eating?
Any and all suggestions would be much appreciated. I tried to keep an online eating journal and a print eating journal, but that just didn't cut it. Too time consuming, and really no accountability.

Any other ideas? Any women interested in periodice conversations over the next few weeks where we tell the other one what we ate for the day (or every other day), and share motivational tips/comments? Do you think something like that would work to get back on the good eating path? I've got unlimited long distance so long distance cost isn't a worry.

Or, got any other ideas for a lazy eater like me?

stick to "hand foods" - food you can eat from your hand without TOO much prep needed: veggies, fruits, canned beans, etc.

easy to prepare foods: chili, spaghetti, roasted potatos, and so on.

get a slow cooker: throw everything in first thing in the morning, done by the time you get back from the gym in the afternoon or evening.

set aside one day a week and cook up large batches. dish them into individual portions and freeze them for nuking later.

Yeah...I'm guilty too. Not that I eat badly, but I enjoy my beer, which is just KILLING any efforts towards cutting.

:cries:

Isn't that too many carbs and not enough protein for building?

um... those were just examples, not an eating regimen. of course, you'd choose the foods that suit your diet best.

I wouldn't mind conversing about it I'm trying to increase my calories and that has been tough. This week I'm aiming for 1350 and I don't know how I'm going to do it.

I have access to e mail so we could e mail each other (or PM) throughout the day. I normally track it all on fitday so I'd have the info. Let me know what you think.

Well then ... just start 'cutting' it out!

OK ... sorry about that.

I bought some of that 'low-carb' beer that has 1/4 of the carbs and 1/3 od the calories. It was some pretty watery stuff....may as well NOT even drink beer.

Everything in moderation, I just need to apply that to alcohol as well. Too bad summer is coming up.......:

Update. Zoe and I are emailing eachother about our eating. So far it is making a BIG difference. I've resisted my normal eating habits of scarfing up whatever I want, whenver i want, how much ever i want.

Thanks Zoe
