Good goals!
Hi Talia,
I live in Fl. Which part are you going to? I live in Tampa, which is near the beach. Being a woman in today's society is hard, but it sounds like you're getting there. Just keep on lifting weights and putting cardio with it. I got out of my fitness routine a few years back and gained a lot of weight, but then got back in. Now I am in my best shape ever, and am doing my own fitness blog. Keep it up!
Brianna

Thanks Brianna. Well my boyfriends sister is moving to Jacksonville so not very tropial but I definitely need to get away so I am super excited! She wants to move near the beach, funny we are going there soon and they haven't even found a house yet. We might be staying in a box! lol
congratulations on your success. I have been in a regular fitness routine for about 2 years now and although my endurance and strength is increasing I find it hard to stick to a healthy livestyle through eating. How did u do it?

Hi Talia,
Jacksonville is a good area. my sister-in law lives there and seems to like it. It is also by the water which is always a plus . As my main source of income I work as a high school teacher during the day so that keeps me up and moving. Also my day ends at 3:00 which make it easy to hit the gym. But seriously, I need the group classes for motivation. I also love to eat and my husband is a great cook, so that can be a struggle. I do notice that I like to eat when I am bored though. If I am actively moving around I don't eat that much. My blog focuses on exercises that can be done at home with limited funds. It is also interactive so you can post comments on it and give other people advice. Let me know what you think.
I hope to talk to you soon!
Brianna

Hi I am new to the forum....just thought maybe I'd bump this up to get some more people to introduce themselves so I get to know more of you. Would love to hear more from the ladies in the house to find out what you all do to keep in shape.

That was a shocker to see a thread I started back when I was a Mod here! I did start out using another online name or 2.
Nice to meet you Del, how about a bit more info about your fitness activites...?
Things have obviously moved on for me since I posted in this thread last. I went through a series of gyms looking for a fitness "home". Crossfit has been good for me in the last 2 years but now that I have moved, I'm not in a place with an affiliate within driving distance.
I did however manage to achieve the beginnings of my home "garage gym". It's not fully stocked but I have few excuses. I'm following the Catalyst Athletics programing right now.

I had stated in the new member thread that I have only recently gotten serious about taking control of my health and fitness. I turned 40 in April, and swore by then I would be where I wanted to be...the day came, and I was no better than I was the years before. Shortly after, I befriended Jaster, and asked him what type of routine I could ease into to get started. With limited access to fitness equipment, he helped me come up with a resistance band workout, along with a Tae Bo video that I had for many years, and incorporated walking into it too.
So I would say that was July...I drastically changed my eating habits, and with just those changes...I am down to 160 from 215. I still have 40 pounds to go..and a lot of firming up to do, but I have never felt better or more committed to this new healthy lifestyle than I am now. So, with the help of the awesome people I have met here, I hope to get as much knowledge as possible to continue on this journey.

Thank you Linda..it's been my dream for a very long time, and I believe I finally get it! I enjoy my workouts so much now!
I just started to add some very low weights to my routine, and I already feel the difference. One of the other things I am happy about is I was able to run a mile and a half, as I used to run cross country in high school. So, I feel like I am on the right path for sure!

Hi Im EmGee This is my first day here on these forums.
Im 44, and work out regularly at the gym 4-6 times a week. Last June I hired a personal trainer for the first time in my life and did training with her three times a week for 8 weeks with great results. Since June '09 I have lost almost 25 pounds now and went from a size 12 to a size 4. I feel great and still plan on toning up more and working on achieving that six pack.

Well, lets keep this thread going...
In 1998 I weighed 447lbs...
I had a gastric bypass in Feb of that year (last resort)...I had absolutely NO metabolism what so ever...Water was putting weight on me...And I was going to die within 2 years. I was 29 in 1998...
It took me about 3 years to lose 320lbs...I had a trainer then and went to the gym 7 days a week, 3 hours a day and I got NO results for the most part...He had me doing 1 hour of each... weight training, cardio (or step aerobics) & aerobics...It worked for a little while but I hit a wall (this took place over a 3 year period as well)...
I had a baby in 2001 (the baby that I was NEVER supposed to have from being morbidly obese for 30 years)...I gained 98lbs with him and to lose the weight, I LITERALLY starved myself to get it off (of course, doing harm and just RECENTLY found out HOW MUCH harm, again I am facing possible death if I don't start eating...Malnutrition will apparently do that to a person)...I ate MAYBE 2 meals a WEEK...Yes, a WEEK...MAYBE!!! I got down to @ 150lbs and had to tuck my belly in like a shirt...
I had a series of cosmetic surgeries (15 of them)...But I still had NO STRENGTH...I was just tiny...puny...no definition at all...
My hubby (one of the administrators here, .V.) and I met in October 2007 and married on March 13, 2009...I entered a body building contest with him but didn't workout (my hours at work made me too tired to want to do anything but sleep when I was home, not to mention the age of 40 kicked in BIGTIME, but that's for another thread in a different forum)...I did "somewhat" follow a diet plan he had made for me, but still didn't follow it the way I should have and I did well in that contest...But not as well as I could have...
Recently we did a 3 month contest that started on October 15th and ran to January 15th...I ate and trained right along side of .V. and the results were INCREDIBLE...We ate right and we trained 3 times a week with MAJOR improvements EVERY SINGLE WEEK and the results KEEP going up...
Even with weight GAIN, I look BETTER now than 3 months ago...
So, my goals are to continue building strength by increasing my lifting weight by 5 or 10 lbs per week...When I hit a wall, reset and continue through...While following .V.'s diet plan for me...
And that's about all folks...Lol...

Wow. Last time I posted in this thread was after my first son was born! I have now had a second baby went back up to almost 200lbs with him again! BUT have lost all of that weight and a couple extra lbs. Still have about 7 to get down to the "weight" I was when I got pregnant with Julian, but I was also lifting alot of heavy weights, and working out 6 days a week. That being said I should probably either find a way to gain alot of muscle or get down to about 140 or so. I would LOVE to run a half marathon in May and I have the training started, but can't seem to find the online form that they keep telling me is there to pay by cheque. I now have to hope that I can go and get a prepaid credit card and use it before all the spots are taken which I'll be doing in the next couple weeks.
My last run was 5.5 miles and I could have kept going so I should be just fine to train for this event. It's May 31st so I have tons of time. I just hope I don't miss the spot!
Thats all for me so far!

Hello, My name is Donna and I have been lurking around here for a few years now.
I grew up an overweight kid and have battled my weight with fitness my whole life.
Basically I try to live a healthy lifestyle, I lift heavy 3x a week, try to increase my strength, I like to run in the mornings before work about 5K.
I work out at a public gym, in my lunch hour.
I am forever trying to loose 20 lbs.
