female roll model (everyone welcome to respond)
OK so many here are striving to age with super fitness like Clarence Bass or Jack Lalanne.
Who are the female counterparts as fitness role models for seniors? I think some new ones are up and coming from the boomer generation, but who should we look up to now ?
I sure as heck would like to perform like Clarence Bass at his age, but there is no way I want to look like him.
Any suggestions for celebrated senior fitness females?

Well ladies of DF. It's up to you. Keep doing what you do then when you come of age you can be our "mature" fitness role models.

And in case you are interested, some of the ladies here at DF ARE inspiring the next generation of girls to move forward in fitness.
Just today one of you inspired two little girls to remember that they have to play hard and exercise when they saw a pic. The comment was, WOW. Then "I hope when I grow up I have legs like that." They want the abs too, but growing girls don't need them. I shall continue to make sure they eat enough not to get them just yet.
Good job ladies. Keep it up.

What about Cory Everson six time Ms. Olympia, still looking good. I'm not sure how old she is.

These are good suggestions. In their 40s and 50s though they are still quite young.
Apart from movie stars all I can think of are Betty Weider and the dancer actress types like Ann Miller. Female figure skaters and Olympic sport medalists would be worth following up on.
(This example is not female, nor a senior, but I always thought Rick Hansen was sexy because of his athleticism. )
Here are some fitness queens from the 80's to watch out for:
Carla Dunlap (Ms Olympia)
Rachel McLish (Ms Olympia)
Kathy Smith
Denise Austin (sp)
Bess Motta (20 min. workout)

Didn't she also have liposuction on her legs?

How about mother and daughter duo Kelly is 72 years young and Colleen is 44. As you will see, age is completely irrelevant!

PS. Right now LadyC and Brat are female role models to me, since I'm only 25. I want to be like you two at your ages
