5% is a very big improvement. You should be very proud of this feat.

Is three months really difficult to lose 5 precent? I personally am at just under 19% and like you my goal is 15%. I have gotten so off track for the past month or so, but now that Im home for the summer I joined a new gym and I have a trainer to meet with whenever I need help/progress checks/etc. Im just wondering (cursor, perhaps?), how easy is it to lose the body fat percentage when you are not that big to begin with. I know the more fatoyu hav to lose the quicker it can happen right? Congratuations on reaching your goal though, thats awesome!!

Yes. The lower your bodyfat is, or closer to you ideal, the harder it is to drop further. So if you want to lose 5% or even 1%. It is much harder than going from 23% to 15%. It has a lot to do with genetics to what your number (10% or 15%) ends up being. 10% on one person might look like 15% on another.

I would be interested in what you did Nikki. Post a sample workout and daily diet.

Thanks LadyC.
One more question, Ive heard many conflicting stories about, is there a chart signifying the best levels of body fat percentage for women? And what is the lowest they generally go to, etc/ My friend who is a hardcore athlete and works out like mad is at just under 12% but she doesnt have any problems with anything. thanks for the help.

Women are considered extremely lean or athlete level at anything below 14%. This is a generalized number. At 12% she may be just fine. 12% for you may be too low. Forget what the numbers are, go for what looks good on you.

Caution: Too low of bodyfat and women quit menstruating. It really screws up with the harmone levels.

I know the visual difference between 20% and 15% is dramatic. Congratulations on the excellent job - I bet you are VERY happy.

I don't know my Bf% is, but i stopped menstruating and i went to see a doctor and i was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. It has somthing to do with my hormone levels.

My doctor guessed that the reason behind it is because i'm too skinny. But is 47-48 kg with 5'2 in height considred too skinny?

i want have toned arms..i think i'm going to that direction, but my period is preventing me from attaining my goal

I think that makes you about 105 lb. I wouldn't consider it too skinny but it is very thin. I would work on adding some muscles to the chest, shoulders, arms and quads. You may gain weight but the added mass will make you look and feel healthier.

Add mass by weight lifting.

I'm not a doctor so I can't tell you if that will make a difference. I don't, however, see how adding more muscles will hurt you any.
