Grad student seeking info for report on Female Bodybuilding

My name is Michael Cox and I am a graduate student at the VCU Adcenter. I am working on a project now that is a report on female body building. I would really appreciate it if you would answer a few questions so that I could better understand the world of female bodybuilding.

How long have you been working out?

What is your education level?

What is the time commitment for your sport?

What is the money commitment?

Why do you compete?

How do you diet for competitions? Do you use any supplements?

What is your typical day like when you are training and when you are not?

Do you have a job outside of fitness training?

Do you have a family or significant other?

What gym do you use? Do you feel that you associate your self with this gym? Why?

What music do you like to listen to?

I really appreciate this. Also, if you feel there is anything else that I should know or if there is anything that would really educate me as to the mindset of the female bodybuilder that would be great. Thank you so much.

Your questions seem a bit varied.. Perhaps people might take more interest in answering them if you are a bit more specific as to what you are trying to get out of these questions. Seems you are an advertising student? Does this mean you are asking these questions to be able to better sell something to female bodybuilders? Hmmm....

I'm not female, but if I were having to answer them questions I wouldn't like to be writing loads and loads for an answer, I'd want optional answers as opposed to open-ended ones, just a thought it might make it easier to interperet and produce stats on as well if your doing it on a large scale, but I don't know the specifics of the course spec .

These sound more like pick-up lines to me. Are you screening women for your next girlfriend?

Hey Guys,

As you may have guessed I am infact and Advertising student. I am simply asking these questions as a way to gain insights into the mindset of female body builders. I am not using the answeres anywhere except in a class room report. If you would feel more comfortable not answering these questions on a message board and would prefer to email me you can do so at coxmt@vcu.edu . Even if you don't answer the questions and just offer some idea of the mindset of a female body builder I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

** Also, I promise that I am not using these questions as pick-up lines. **

I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability, but I don't compete so I don't know if this would be any use to you.

1. I've been workout out since I was 14, so 7 years now.

2. Education - I went to college, nothing related to fitness or body building though. I took a personal training course when I was 16, good experience but couldn't be certified.

3. Time - I work out 4 - 5 days a week. Usually for at least an hour and a half. Longer when doing my long runs.

4. Money is just what I spend on gym membership

5. I don't compete, and don't want to.

6. With regards to diet, I eat as best as I can, very hard todo with the cost of food though. But I don't compete so my diet is not as strict as it would be.

7. My days don't change much from days I train and days I don't

8. I have a desk job.

9. I have a signifigant other.

10. I'm currently at Durham Women's Fitness. But will be going to GoodLife soon.
