heart rate

I read somewhere that pseudoephedrine and caffiene help your body metabolise fats when exercising. When doing cardio I usually do 40min on the cross trainer with a heart rate of about 170, after taking pseudoephedrine and caffine this morning my heart rate was only about 80 on the cross trainer, can anyone explain this to me? Is it counter productive?

Thanks

Er.....there's something wrong with your heart monitor??

I have no clue what pseudoephedrine is, but if it actually is dropping your heart rate like that I say leave it alone. You *want* to raise your heart rate while doing cardio, because that's what burns the calories.

Sounds weird that any drug, unless it is powerful and prescribed, would keep your heart rate at 80 while it should be double that. lol

Probably an equipment problem, or maybe you didn't have the finger thingy or whatever you clip on to measure your heart rate on properly.

80 sounds reeeeeeally low..I agree you should check your equipment but I'd leave that stuff alone..could be very dangerous!
