what an honor to have people asking advice like this! i agree...be encouraged that you have made such change to your life that it's changing others...even if just a tiny bit at a time.

Ya, it really is something! I was so fat last summer and then I started lifting and although I'm not exactly sure how much weight I lost I do feel amazingly better and feel just fine about being at the pool. I always hid behind clothes before! I feel so much more energetic and just so alive! It's also nice to be admired by men again after being invisible!!! I've become a terrible flirt!!! Just all smily and stuff! hahaha, but its all in good fun.

My friend joined a gym and asked me to go help her with the weights, show her how to do it and all. It was fun and really weird to actually be showing someone about form and different exercises and all. Me? Of all people!!!

As for your friend and the advice, how about suggesting she visit this site and read some posts. This website is really inspiring and supportive and I noticed I was slacking off on my eating habits when I didn't visit it at least once a week.
I learn all kinds of great information here surfing around and it helps with motivation. :

But I know the results she wants will not be acheived by what she is doing now. How do I tell her nicely that YOU NEED TO DO WEIGHTS AND CARDIO, lots of it! Should I just be upfront w/ her or continue to be nice about giving her advice??
Just be upfront with her. The truth is the best way to go.
