Why is it that some women (me including) are extreamly hungry during menstrual period? Do we burn more calories during that time? No matter how much I eat I feel as if I didn't eat anything at all (STARTVING). Also my workouts are horrible and I feel shaky.
Any advice?

I know for me the iron levels in my blood drop so I feel weaker than normal. My body appears to be malnurished at the time so I'm guessing the hunger is to get me to take in more nutrients to replace the ones being lost. It helps to eat well all month long so that when that time comes the iron levels are not already in the low range.

I completely understand the hunger during that time of the month, you definitely are not the only one. Do you take any supplements or medications during your period? Are very,very ill before and during your period?
